  about Acteon

Acteon Marine Biology Consultancy conducts biological research and surveys in marine and estuarine environments. Acteon performs identifications, provides survey reports, literature reviews and (underwater) photos. Acteon has expertise in the field of biology and ecology of native and introduced invertebrates, particularly of north-west Europe.

A broad and detailed knowledge of marine invertebrates, including the more cryptic and less studied groups (see publications), and excellent observational skills ensure that Acteon draws more information from field studies. We have information about dispersal of recently introduced species from own field research. We hold a database of rare species records. Through extensive fieldwork Acteon has a clear picture of the distribution of most marine and estuarine (hyper/epi)benthos groups in The Netherlands.
